Description: Warren Teagarden grew up in the '80s listening to New Wave and old Beatles records, but like most disgruntled teenagers of his era, he eventually discovered punk rock. Those punk roots have proven hard to hide, even when he sings folky lullabies and strums acoustic guitars. Regarding the subject matter of his songs, Teagarden says: "Love, death, God, sex, drugs, loneliness ... you know, the same shit all songs are about." He's currently criss-crossing the country to support his new album "Across the San Joaquin."
Opener Parastrika is an instrumental rock trio from Lawrence consisting of guitarist Marcus Kirby, bassist Corey Vitt and drummer Seth Weise. Influences include: Unwed Sailor, The Appleseed Cast, Minmae, The Replay Lounge, medical bills, etc.
