Description: Since making its debut in 2003 as a singer/songwriter two-piece, The Honorary Title has grown into a dynamic and hard-rocking quartet that rivals big-stage bands like Lucero and The Killers. The group recorded its recent album "Scream and Light Up the Sky" with superproducer Rob Schnapf, who lent the same sort of sonic sheen he drummed up for Saves the Day and The Vines. Lawrence musician Nate Harold (Big Surrender, Kelpie) joins The Honorary Title as a touring keyboardist.
Tour mates The New Frontiers have earned multiple accolades for their sincere and unpretentious songcraft, rooted in a melodic sensibility that recalls bands like Coldplay and The Perishers.
Opener Big Surrender is a new Lawrence band featuring singer Adam Murphy and former Waking Ashland collaborators Ryan Lallier and Nate Harold. Purveying a poppy sound reminiscent of big-hook bands like The Format and Phantom Planet, the group has cooked up an expansive collection of songs at Black Lodge Studios during the past year.
