Description: Be still fans of the flamenco guitar, this is not that musician... it's the one fans of pop will prefer. This Jon McLaughlin became an overnight heartthrob when he performed his song "So Close" at the 80th Annual Academy Awards. Having also acted in the film that the song appears in ("Enchanted"), the young songwriter already had a jump on the crooner competition. Tours with Paolo Nutini and Kelly Clarkson followed, and soon McLaughlin found himself in the studio with hit-making producer John Fields (Rooney, Jonas Brothers, Lifehouse, Switchfoot). Splitting his time between sappy, piano-driven ballads and '80s retread pop goo, McLaughlin is making hearts melt on Rock Boats and Houses of Blues at a pace that Clay Aiken could envy.
