Description: TAARKA features the husband-and-wife team of renegade violin wizardess Enion Pelta-Tiller and musical-polyglot mandolinist David Tiller. The Tillers are also the lead instrumental team of THAMUSEMEANT, a well-traveled "anti-folk" band. With support from a rotating cast of upright bass, percussion and cello players, TAARKA performs primarily instrumental gypsy jazz that takes inspiration from greats like Django Reinhardt and Bela Fleck. The ensemble also draws on a variety of worldly styles—Afro-Cuban, Klezmer, Celtic and Middle-Eastern—to create a complex yet accessible sound that's ripe for both dancing and admiring.
